The
Department of Health last week published a consultation paper titled
Strengthening corporate accountability in health and social care: see
here (
pdf). The paper sets out a proposal to amend the
Care Quality Commission registration requirements in order to impose a duty on health service providers to ensure that their directors are 'fit and proper'.
