A new edition of the corporate governance code published by the Securities Market Association is now in force. A copy of this 2020 code, which replaces the 2015 code, is available here (pdf).

Finland: working group to review corporate governance code

Finland: new edition of the Finnish Corporate Governance Code published

Following a review earlier this year, the Securities Market Association has published a new edition of the Finnish Corporate Governance Code, effective from 1 January 2016: see here (English, pdf).

Finland: corporate governance code review underway

A review of the Finnish Corporate Governance Code (published in 2010 by the Securities Market Association) is underway. The aim is to have a new code in force for the spring of 2016. Further information, in Finnish, is available here. Information about the review has not yet been published in English on the SMA website.

UK: women on boards - Prime Minister has not ruled out quotas

The UK's Prime Minister made comments yesterday at the Northern Future Forum in Stockholm regarding board diversity and said that whilst he did not favour quotas the Government had not ruled out their introduction: see here and here. The countries taking part in the meeting - Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Iceland, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, Sweden and the UK - have contributed to a document which provides some interesting information on board diversity and measures that have been taken: see here (pdf).

Finland: the 2010 corporate governance code

The codes and principles directory maintained by the European Corporate Governance Institute has this week been updated to include a copy, in English, of the Finnish Corporate Governance Code 2010 published by the Securities Market Association: see here. 

Finland: compliance with the corporate governance code

NASDAQ OMX Helsinki has published its Corporate Governance Review. This reports that two thirds of listed companies comply with the recommendations in the Finnish Code. 

Finland: updated Corporate Governance Code

An updated version of the Finnish Corporate Governance Code for Listed Companies has been published. The Code has been produced by the Corporate Governance Working Group appointed by the Board of the Finnish Securities Market Association. An unofficial translation has been published in English on the FSMA's website - see here.
