The Higher Education Governance (Scotland) Bill was introduced in the
Scottish Parliament earlier this year: see
here. A copy of the Bill, as introduced, is available
here (
pdf). The Bill, which includes provisions concerning the composition of the governing bodies of higher education institutions, is currently being considered by the
Education and Culture Committee: see
here. The Committee's
call for evidence closed earlier this month and the responses have now been published: see
here. Opposition to the Bill looks strong.
