Last year the Taiwan Stock Exchange published an amended edition of its Corporate Governance Best Practice Principles for TWSE/TPEx Listed Companies. A copy of the new edition is now available in English: see here.

Taiwan: amended edition of the governance best practice principles

The Taiwan Stock Exchange has published an amended edition of its Corporate Governance Best Practice Principles for TWSE/TPEx Listed Companies. News of the new edition was contained in a press release published in English last Friday: see here. The press release provides an overview of some of the amendments made in the new edition. The new edition - not yet published in English - follows the publication earlier this year of the new Stewardship Principles for Institutional Investors.

Taiwan: stewardship principles for institutional investors

The Taiwan Stock Exchange will publish a final version of a set of stewardship principles for institutional shareholders - sometimes termed a stewardship code - later this year, following a consultation on draft principles that began last year and concluded in February: see here. A copy of the draft principles, translated into English, is available here (docx).

Taiwan: ACGA corporate governance white paper

The Asian Corporate Governance Association yesterday published its white paper on corporate governance in Taiwan: see here (pdf). The white paper makes suggestions for improving governance with regard to shareholder meetings and voting, board effectiveness and shareholder rights.
