Earlier this year the
Chancellor announced, in his Spring Statement, that a review of the regulatory framework for financial services would begin in the summer: see
here. That review - The Financial Services Future Regulatory Framework Review (a mouthful, I admit) - has now started with the publication, last Friday, of a call for evidence document: see
here (
pdf). The document introduces the Review and seeks views on its first phase: the coordination of regulatory activities by
HM Treasury and the other UK regulators, including how firms and the regulators can work together to make authorisation, supervision and enforcement more efficient.
