
Rather belatedly, I note publication of the 2017 edition of the
Scottish Code of Good Higher Education Governance: see

It is interesting to note - given the publicity around
vice chancellor pay in England and the remuneration setting process - that the Scottish Code requires the remuneration committee "...to seek the views of representatives of students and staff of the Institution, including representatives of recognised trade unions, in relation to the remuneration package of the Principal and the senior executive team". This goes beyond what is (currently) expected by the
UK Higher Education Governance Code (
here,
pdf).
