The Modern Slavery (Transparency in Supply Chains) Bill was introduced in the
House of Lords earlier this week and received its
first reading: see
here. A copy of the Bill, as introduced by
Baroness Hamwee (on behalf of
Baroness Young of Hornsey) as a
Private Members' Bill, is available
here and
here (
pdf). The Bill will, amongst other things, amend
section 54 of the
Modern Slavery Act 2015 in order to require publication of the 'slavery and human trafficking statement' in companies' annual reports.
