The
Supreme Court of Appeal gave judgment last week in
Cape Empowerment Trust Ltd v Fisher Hoffman Sithole (200/11) [2013] ZASCA 16: see

pdf). The case concerned a claim against an auditor in respect of negligent misstatement. The Supreme Court held that the auditor's degree of negligence was not relevant when considering whether or not liability should be imposed. A summary of the decision is available
