The
Basel Committee on Banking Supervision has published
Principles for effective risk data aggregation and risk reporting, the purpose of which is to strengthen banks’ risk data aggregation capabilities and internal risk reporting practices: see

pdf). There are 14 principles in total and the first one provides that a bank's data aggregation capabilities and risk reporting practices should be subject to strong governance arrangements consistent with the Basel Committee's other principles and guidance (e.g.,
Principles for Enhancing Corporate Governance, October 2010).
