FairPensions - a charity established to promote responsible investment practices by pension providers and fund managers - last year published a report titled
Protecting our best interests: rediscovering fiduciary obligation (

pdf), in which it called for a fundamental review of the fiduciary obligations of investors and recommended the introduction of a provision parallel to
section 172 of the
Companies Act 2006 for institutional investors. Last week a follow up report was published, in which this recommendation was further explored and refined: see
