The
Xstrata plc annual general meeting was held yesterday in Switzerland (the company's shares are listed on the London and Swiss Stock Exchanges). Much attention was focused on resolution 3 - the approval of the company's remuneration report - given the controversy over remuneration policy at the company. Just over 70% of shareholders voted on this resolution and of those 31% voted against the report. This is noteworthy given that such resolutions are usually passed with little dissent.
