Botswana's
Ministry of Trade and Industry has
announced that a Bill amending the Companies Act 2003 has been passed by Parliament and will become law on receiving the president's signature. One of the main aims of the Act is to increase the speed with which a company can be incorporated by permitting the
registrar of companies to delegate his powers to issue and sign certificates of incorporation. The Act also introduces a limited amnesty for those companies with outstanding annual returns when the 2003 Act came into force.
