Wall Street Journal has
reported that "[the] number of U.S. businesses adopting poison pills is rising this year as companies move to defend themselves against potential hostile takeovers. Fifty publicly traded companies adopted poison pills this year through Thursday, up from 42 in all of 2007, according to John Laide of
